U.S. GULF: Diamond Offshore semi OCEAN AMBASSADOR, originally scheduled to go to Elf, will instead drill three wells for Walter Oil and Gas after it completes its current contract with Mariner Energy early next month. i don't know what's going on here, but it don't look good. Let's take a poll, Which is better: a contract with the world renouned international exploration and production company Elf, or three wells for some bum off the street that this week is calling himself Wally's O&G ? U.S. GULF: Diamond Offshore semi OCEAN CENTURY is expected to complete its contract with Chevron around April 20. The rig then has one-well commitments with Phillips Petroleum and Murphy Exploration and Production lasting through mid to late-July. Am i the only one that sees the trend here: Chevron (Big Oil) don't need the rig any more. Phil and Murf will take it for one well. A-beebiba-beebiba-beebiba, That's all folks. TRINIDAD: Trinidad's Energy Ministry will invite bids late this year or in early 1999 for an ultra deepwater licensing round. NORWAY: Saga Petroleum awarded a $10.6 million contract to Halliburton. The three-year plus two-year options contract covers well perforation services offshore Norway. No explaination neccessary. CONGO: CGG Marine delivered a processed 3-D cube from a survey offshore the Congo to Shell in less than two days after data acquisition. Data was processed with CGG Geovecteur software to a fully 3-D migrated stack. The processed data was transmitted via satellite to Shell Congo's office. Shell must know that oil prices are going to drop: We need that data ASAP. U.S./INTERNATIONAL: Randy Smith Drilling Schools (RSDS) is developing a follow-up class, Leadership II, for Global Marine. Leadership II is designed to build on the original Leadership Skills class RSDS developed for Global Marine. Global Marine is sending its worldwide supervisory personnel to Leadership II. Key items covered in the three-day course are: five keys to successful coaching in oil and gas operations, understanding and applying dimensions of leadership to crew members, developing observation and feedback skills to improve safety on rigs, and understanding the advantages and problems of diversity in today's oil industry. Took me a while to figure out what that is all about, but i got it. Hint: Idle hands are the Devil's playground.
