Good point about technology integration. A merger is not likely, IMO. Peoplesoft has an agreement with Interpid Systems (private) to target retail companies. Correct me if I'm wrong anybody but I think they own a piece of it and had Intrepid build functionality using Peopletools. Its been widely speculated that Peoplesoft will buy Intrepid but it hasn't happened yet. Peoplesoft bought Red Pepper but that was only a couple hundred million $$ (looks like a decent price now given current SCM valuations although it looked high at the time).
