Elko,
>>frankly, it is my opinion that the really good players at this game say little or nothing
about their investments, they just do it
- if you got to talk up/down stocks to make
money, you are neither trading or investing, you are engaging in lame attempts at herd
manipulation through pathetic propaganda; i expect the market on TAVA will move
quite independently of anything you say<<

Aren't you missing the point a bit? The same logic applies 100% whether short or long. You are saying that Cheryl, Jack, JDN, Josef and many others are engaging in lame attempts at herd manipulation through pathetic propaganda. Everyone who chips in here, yourself included, must not be a good investor.

For me, discussion here is an interesting sideline, an opportunity to converse with interesting people from whom I can learn, an opportunity to 'test' my views and hopefully find out information I did not know. SI is also an excellent catalyst for finding out things worth investigating.

>> let the stock run to unparalleled heights from
which you can take your $<<

I think it *might* already have done so (who can tell?), but took a small short position initially to give flexibility.
P.

elko, I can't respond to everyone ... too many posts already<g>! I invest based on my perception of future fundamentals. This takes a lot of work and it helps to learn from other people on these threads ... that is why I frequently post before I invest.

BTW, no Y2K company has met my requirements for going long. I don't mind missing the runup ... my long stocks are doing great!
Regards, Bill

Some of the most astute observations I've seen.

Thankyou.

elko: You're right about professional short sellers keeping quiet. Most of those that I've known and talked to over the years are backed by substantial capital. They do in-depth spreadsheet style analysis of company fundamentals and spot companies that are going to have cash problems, knowing that eventually the company will have to start making "bad news" announcements. Both TAVA's potential for blistering upside moves and the rapidly improving capitalization, plus the no-nonsense management style, have made professional short sellers (like the Fiero Bros.) dismiss TAVA as a short sale candidate. If non-professionals wish to short TAVA, well, it's their money.
