Ali, >>> you cannot save the enormous amount of registers and switch the task state fast, just because it would be too much to save and restore. Remember, Intel was always the worst in task switching and real-time response, how they could design anything useful without experience? I believe they even are unaware of this problem.<<<

Thanks to you, now they know. But, don't you think that with over $9B in cash, if they didn't have in-house experience with task switching and real-time response, they could hire some of these people from IBM, Tandem/CPQ/DEC, or Sequent just as AMD hired some ex-Intel people?

I'll bet if the price is right, even you could be persueded to teach Intel how to do things the right way.

I mean if Intel could thrive in spite of Andy Grove's paranoia, what could you possibly bring that could hurt them?

Regards<gggg>,

Mary
