big guy, these are my only Y2K shorts so far (ACLY, DDIM, ZITL)! I tried to short PTUS (no shares available) and ALYD at 27 (not marginable). I have been investing for many years and shorting stocks since the silver craze in '79! One of my largest shorts last year was AVNT; their management was arrested for alleged criminal activity. I follow a number of Y2K stocks as potential short candidates. I try to understand the Company's fundamentals (product, market, etc) and if the market cap is way out of line with fundamentals, I consider shorting the stock. This is not an exact science<g>.
