Yes, I have been on the Monica thread, Dave, and frankly I am none the wiser, but perhaps a little the worse for wear.

But what I meant about sex being political is that men and women make political statements in the way they express themselves sexually, sometimes. I am particularly thinking of the feminist revolution, and how for awhile it seemed politically uncool to even have sex with men, if you were a woman and wanted to support the feminist movement. This had nothing to do, ironically, with whether you were heterosexual and would have enjoyed it!! It seemed like expressing hostility towards men was the thing to do, instead.

I am trying to think of other examples, but cannot. I know there are, but I am recovering from a morning of tea drinking and coffee cake eating, during which nothing at all happened to stimulate my intellect. And now it will soon be time for a nice nap!!
