Keith:

"actually most of the money will likely go to BIV."
I would certainly hope MOST of the $ reaches BankBIV

"As mentioned the buyer could have gone to the market, which would have raised the price!"
Given recent trading volumes, the mystery investor would have paid no more than $.25 to accumulate that position.

"It sounds like a fan or friend of the company has come through with a quick cash infusion with no muss or fuss."
What quick cash? It hasn't closed. Aren't lawyers & regulators involved? When is that no muss & fuss?

"There are probably not any undisclosed sweeteners, failure to state them in the news release could be construed as misrepresentation of material facts"
Wanna bet? The Alberta Stock Exchange has an enviable record of enforcing disclosure, especially when it comes to material facts.
Remember Bre-X?

For the sake of the astute "fan or friend" investor, I do hope a Gibraltar sized sweetener is attached to this financing.
If things work out,he/she deserves a reward for committing $ to an illiquid situation. Kinda like straightening out the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Good Luck
