I didn't realize Bertelsmann was already such a presence
in online services. Seems they are joint partners with
AOL. And they just sold 1/4 of their share holdings and
got quite a large pile of cash (and profit) for it:

Bertelsmann realised a gain of about 740 million marks
from the transaction and planned to use the money to
build up AOL's CompuServe online service in Europe as
well as an Australian service, the paper said.

Funny how these articles never mention Netscape any more.
