<And MCOM is run by Paul Baran. He first had the idea for packet swithed and routed digital networks, i.e. the internet as we know it. He was the founder and now chairman of Com21. Bill Gates has invested in MCOM. Mcom is operating around the country... . Just doesn't seem comparable to MEME at the moment...>

This is in need of some correction
Paul Baron is one of the founders, however to say that MCOM is run by him would be incorrect, though as far as I know, he still is a significant stockholder. I believe Bill Gates may own some stock, However, what you may be thinking of is the recent purchase of 49% of the outstanding stock by Paul Allen's ( Microsoft Co-Founder) Vulcan Ventures group.
I know this is the MEME thread, but I thought I would correct this.
