I considered her gender identity problem because of an apparent projection of "castration " to Bernie M. Women can experience this because they have no external genitals and "penis envy" is a legitimate stage in early female development. Freud might suggest that NAH has an fixation in the phallic stage. (3-6 years of age). To quote Freud." The male child fears castration as a result of his incestual desires for his mother. The female child's conflict--the Electra conflict--is similiar, but more involved., and is related to "penis envy"....... The question here is whether NAH has resolved this stage in her life. "The child's sex drives centers on a different part of the body during each stage of development . Failure to resolve a psychosexual conflict at any stage of development results in a fixation at that stage". I'm wondering if NAH is "projecting" the castration issue on Bernie due to her own gender identity problem ( i.e unresolved lesbian tendencies experienced by NAH). BTW,I think these tendencies are fine if they are resolved without need to fixate/accuse other's of having been castrated (an indication of pathological thinking)....this could make for a hardened lesbian mentality , and, let me be clear, I'm not saying this is NAH's problem, just responding to her posts . I believe in "live and let live" NAH could also be dealing with unresolved anal fixation (1-3 yrs). During this stage the primary satisfaction is associated with the anal region (it is also a control issue i. e. potty training). To quote Freud "The anal retentive character is orderly and stingy ( notice the issue of my spelling in her private message to me?) and has rigid patterns of thought. This could account for her resort to private messages instead of posting. I'M Just thinking out loud.....at least she's not demanding (to my knowledge) $$$ for any sexual harassment offense we may have committed by reference to cleavage on this thread. Paula Jones could learn a lesson here! Again, let me emphasize that I do not know NAH, and submit this post as pure speculation from a clinical point of view. JO

While you hold tightly to your shares of LGND, praying everyday that it will go up and reach $100 in two years (thats the delusional part), the smart traders on this thread have already more than tripled their money trading LGND (thats the part where you're not paying attention). While I agree that there is nothing that you can do to cure delusion, you can at least try to pay attention. --Tony
