pretty amusing! I forgot about Bay Networks! Have not even looked at it for 3 months at least!!

My tech buddies have always like Bay's products. The problem I see, and anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, is that Bay has to take market share away from CSCO, ASND and COMS to do better than it already is. That's a tall order. Their new products are good, I understand, but I just don't know enough to make a competent decision. I would need to look at a lot of stuff that I have not looked at. Interestingly, I originally got turned on to this whole arena (Internet, switches, etc.) about 2 years ago by an old friend that went to MIT and is now a programmer in upstate New York. The only company he liked was Bay. I have not spoken to him in about 6 months. I am what I call a "technomoron"; my understanding of the technical aspects of this industry is slightly less minimal than it was 6 months ago. I am forced to take the opinion of others and evaluate it, which is not something I love to do. (Too bad these companies don't make simple things that I already understand!) Gary (not Korn) and several others have a much better knowledge of the products, and may be able to add some good insight regarding the market share factor.

Chart-wise, Bay looks EXCELLENT for a potential bottom at this level. As you probably know since I harp on it, I have had excellent success in the last 12 months with a chart filter called "Sequential". Bay has formed the first part of this formation and I thank you for bringing it to my attention. For me, I'm at the point where I'm standing in front of the CSCO store, the ASND store and the COMS store, and I have to find out what's in the BAY store before I whip out my credit card at the register. Actually that's not a good metaphor. I already spent everything at the ASND store.
