Tech Master opinion on conference?

What's your take TM? Larry would love to brag that this quarter is going to be good too, but he's begged off. Meeting the number is all that is required and what is the purpose of saying anything other than the estimates so far appear to be justified but tempered with an understanding that surprises at this point are not warranted?

The troops are positive but last quarter they were doubtful so I don't think they have the foggiest notion of how well their own company's books are doing (too big of a picture for them) at any given time. Next week is going to be a telling sign. I can picture more selling off to as low as 25-26 without more news. Lack of news will just bring more day traders into the scene and then the option contracts will increase which will start having a locking effect on the price until expiration.

I believe that there will be some reassertion of positions but there is no reason to downgrade because I don't think anyone can get a good enough handle on what Oracle's return looks like this quarter. Downgrades would follow a direct warning of missing the quarter's projections and I don't believe that from what I've read that that was stated in the least at the conference. All I can gather from the net is that there definitely won't be a surprise to the upside.

What Oracle "said to me" was that there's still time to go in this quarter and they can't be sure yet what the final outcome will be yet. Sounds like it hinges on closing some crucial deals or they need these new products to start selling more for the cautiousness to be gone from their optimism.

I wish they had the audio from the question/answer period available.
