James,

Thank you for your response.

I don't actually see anything particularly wrong with homosexuality. I wouldn't label it as insane. It's not "normal" only because the majority of people aren't homosexuals. Normal is such a tough word to pin down sometimes. I don't think homosexuality is destructive behavior. I don't think it necessarily leads to physical and mental pain. I think, in fact, that it is the treatment by others that can cause the most pain to homosexuals.

Practicing unsafe sex is certainly destructive and can lead to a lot of pain. Unsafe sex practices are absolutely not restricted to homosexuals. To think that AIDS is primarily an homosexual disease is incorrect and dangerous. I hope you agree. And, yes, I would say that abstinence is the "safest sex" of all.

On the issue of children, I agree that many (if not a great majority) of the cases of anti-social behavior are direct results of the parents. However, if a child infringes on the rights of someone else, then the law should hold the child accountable. If the parents of that child had infringed on the rights of that child, then the law should hold the parents accountable. However, the law should not assume accountability is transitive.

Someone should have told the Republican Party about not mixing religion and politics. IMHO, religious issues that once united the GOP are now tearing it apart. Religion in politics is a double-edged sword. Politics in religion causes corruption (of ideas, ideals, &c.); Luther had much to say about it (or so I've been told). :-)
