Sankar , Re:>> Rocky's apparent fear of the unknown <<

I believe that Rocky's paranoia and the inability to reason keeps him up at night and when he does retire for the night he has to keep the lights on for the fear that the bogy man might get him . Ha Ha

Now a question about the market . This is open to anyone that has an opinion .

What effect if any does a very large bid , take all or none ,have on the trading ?

Does it help prevent the market from going below the bid price ? I know that the price can go below the large bid price without the large block trading .

Does it have other than a physiological value when we are dealing with the overall market forces that determines the price ?

I have seen the above in action and it looks to have a value to me in keeping the price stable . Perhaps the specialist is doing this in the realm of his responsibilities in keeping a stable market .

Sankar,
fwiw, the businessweek article (posted in this thread) looks over all +ve to me though the article starts -ve. They clearly tell that they are in the process of fixing the earlier problems. I think the BOD made a quick move to oust KE and focus on long term Biz. This could have been a Chapter of hard times in IOM's long history. This has happened to many companies including ORCL, INTC, DELL etc and finally they came out as winners. While the future is not gaurenteed for IOM, atleast they seem to be addressing their problems instead of living in a dream world. Zips still can replace floppies if they can cut the prices by focusing on manufacturing and by integrating the chipsets used in Zips. Zip and Clik! should be the bread and butter while jaz should be like a Bonus to increase the profit margins.

well. time will tell. If Sony does not come up with an agressively priced HiFD before the Christmas season then there is a high chance that Zip would be the standard from next year. We have to wait for Sony's moves. They still have 4-5 months time to make their move.
