The argument I was making was that I would have thought the yields at Intel were much better than the claimed 60% (you have to follow back thru the links) which my simple analysis showed was pretty unremarkable. I have heard numbers in the mid 90's for Intel yields and cache redundancy is a good place to start to get these. Great processes, engineers and cleanrooms probably even do more for 95% yields otherwisee everyone would be shipping K6/P6/whatever uPs and showing profits like Intel.
