>Just a couple of quick questoins. When do they report Q198 earnings? Assuming they do some window dressing on their first quarter report, is it wiser to hold off shorting any more until after the Q198 results since they could try to put their spin on things for the benefit of keeping the price up?<

I don't have the date. Haven't checked the earnings schedule. IMO their complex revenue recognition procedure will make them part of the companies reporting late. I would not expect any numbers before the last week of April. Let's hope someone provides an update. I think waiting until after Q1 is a good strategy. I think I mentioned this in Roger's several times last Fall and a couple of times here.

<<When do they report Q198 earnings? >>

I checked First Call and they report earnings as coming the week of May 7th - so it looks like later rather than sooner although First Call is not known for accuracy. First Call reports 6 brokers following with a mean EPS of 1 cent per share. For the next quarter the est. is 8 cents per share. I certainly agree that the estimate of 42 cents for the whole year is out of whack. It seems they are guessing that earnings will keep increasing 7c per share per quarter 1 + 8 + 15 + 22 = .46??
