Brush Creek Announces Grade of First Round Milled From 2500 South Wing Raise

GRASS VALLEY, CALIFORNIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 1998--Brush
Creek Mining a(NASDAQ:BCMD) Brush Creek Mining and Development Co.,
Inc. (the Company) today announced that the first round of material
from the 2500 south wing raise in the Lower Brush Creek Mine had been
milled. On April 1, 1998 the Company announced that it had
encountered gold in its 2500 south wing raise and had stated that it
would publish the grade of the ore once it was milled and
amalgamated. The first round of 18.4 tons through the mill yielded
22.75 ounces. The grade was 42.47 grams per metric ton which equals
1.24 ounces per ton. While the Company promised to release the
results of the first round, it cautions investors to recognize the
preliminary nature of this information.
Brush Creek controls nine historic mines in the
Alleghany-Downieville gold district of Northern California, which
produced more than 12 million ounces of placer and 2 million ounces
of hard rock gold. It also controls more than 4000 acres of
potentially diamondiferous ground near La Porte, California.
