Hello board:

I'm a new investor in PFE (short term), and going through a few 10K's, I found that under their "STOCK AND INCENTIVE PLAN", PFE has 338 million shares which would double to 676 million if there was a split. Put together with the current shares outstanding (1.3B, which would also double to 2.6B), it doesn't appear that a "2 for 1" split can happen without another vote to increase the authorized amount. The last vote increased the authorized number to 3 Billion shares. A "2 for 1" split now would give us a total of ~3.3 Billion (1.3B + 676 million) and that, IMHO, can't happen. However, a "3 for 2" is still possible without another vote.
