I trust that everyone on this thread knows that one can buy (or sell) any San Diego based stock for $5 a trade through Jack White and Company. looks like about 100-120 different stocks in the list.

This is what Jack White calls an "Interconnect trade" meaning that they "cross" (match) the sells and buys at 1 PM (NY time) each day and if matched they split the bid and asked price. You also can specify that if a match is not accomplished, they should put the order on the market and let a MM execute it, but still for only the $5 commission.

Obviously this procedure is better for buy-and-hold investors *in stocks whose price does not fluctuate wildly during the day*. A day-trader could lose more by waiting for the 1 PM "crossing" than he would save in the commission fees.

For my San Diego stocks ... includes TSIS ... I usually check the prices at 12:40 and the call in my order. (Orders must be placed by 12:45, for the 1:00 crossing.)
