I would like to know where you get the factual information that DEC will earn 50c this quarter. I know that is the average estimate but the way one company after another has been missing their numbers I would be interested in knowing your source.
Compaq has already said that the earnings weakness would continue into the next quarter so I see no reason for a quick rise in price. Also it seems you are projecting the merger to take place with no problems at all which while not impossible is optimistic at best.
I did say that when the two companies completed their merger that CPQ would probably go to new highs next year sometime. I do not find that unreasonable but still maintain that a rapid price appreciation at this time is not to be expected.
