Quiet time...

Verity is early in the second month of the quarter, so I'm not surprised at the lack of announcements. The sales force tries to close as much as they can at the end of each month, especially in the third month of the quarter. The company has also been cautious about what it announces, which hopefully has increased its credibility. Previous management announced everything, big or small, to promote the idea of Verity's ubiquity. Present management is more focused on profitability, which is reflected in what it announces.

A critical time for product delivery is fast approaching. Whatever Verity delivers this month has a chance to impact this quarter's revenue. Delivering products draws resources from marketing and marcom to develop collaterals, which means less time available for press releases and such.

If it's this quiet a month to six weeks from now, I'd take that as a signal of some kind of change -- good or bad. As for the profitability of the quarter, even insiders generally have no idea until very late, often in the last week or few days. Big sales usually go to repeat customers, who know they'll get the best deal at the end of the quarter.

Nick

Your 8 1/4 seems to provide some support; however breaking down below 8 was disturbing. There seems to be very little buying interest, which in this type market can allow the stock to drift. That's why I was concerned when I asked you last week what the chart was indicating. We're kinda in a tough spot now--too low to want to sell-- and too high for a screaming buy???? Hope this isn't indicating a weak quarter!
