John, INTEL is listed #21 overall on Forbes list of 500 companies but number 3 in profitability - with a cash hoard greater than Citicorp and Travelers group combined.

This is of course history - what they have done in the past - but combine what they have done in the past with your nytimes article describing what they are planning to do in the $60B main frame market,

the picture is a lot more optimistic than this mornings challenge from NSM's Brian Halla and the all-in-one chip and the AMD threat from last week in the battle for the highly visible but rather unimportant lower end of the IT market.

BTW NSM shows up #485 on the Forbes list but nowhere in sight in sales, profitability, and or market valuation. AMD does not show up at all on the Forbes screen.
