Yes, I agree with you that oil shouldn't be burned, but used for more value added products. There won't be another Devonian age anytime soon to make more when it's gone. I really don't understand why the IC combustion apologists think that particular kludge will continue to rule the energy scenario of the planet for all time. Coal didn't, why should oil? Technology improves. By the way, I am not long on Ballard as I think it will correct temporarily in a market correction. I don't seem much room for further improvement in interest rates, with "LaNina" next year, and a cooler meteorological scenario, with higher oil prices going into next winter, leading to negatives for bonds and stocks, and a more inflationary backdrop. I put my whole RRSP into Ballard at 7.00 and got out at 27.00. Aside from the stock price, I think Ballard will continue to thrive.
