If I traded BANY through E*TRADE, would it then be possible to request the certs?

You have the right to order delivery of your certs from any firm you buy through. When you buy a stock you own the company. The certs are the only thing that proves this. Most trading firms do charge a small price to deliver your certs...$20-$35 is average. I think I read that Etrade charges $20 or $25.

Understand that most trading firms don't want you to call your certs and will try to discourage you from doing so. This is because they lose the totals off of their books just like you sold them. When you don't call for your certs they keep it on their books like they own it.

They also know that if you have the certs and decide to sell it's easier to open another account at a different trading firm and they will never get them back at all.

Calling for your certs is easy and uncomplicated but don't be surprised if your broker tries to talk you out of it. And don't believe him when he says that if they keep them nobody can short them. That's a lie...they probably are short themselves!

Good Luck.

Klaus,

I believe you....I'm glad you can let this stuff roll off like water on a duck's back. This thread is on the look-out. And should be. I think you understand. It is very cool that you have initiated a position in BANY. I think there are many more like you on the way.......

Sunday....and it is raining again.....can't get to the first draw without a foundation. Seems like 2 straight weeks now...Very strange for Idaho.

Anyhow.

Value is my deal today. Consider this hype if you like.....I'm just thinking. Book value can be looked at several ways. One is the physical asset value of the company. Buildings, desks, paper clips, cash ...etc. This would be nothing or next to nothing in BANY's case. They may own the plastic injection dies for the Doublecase product line....but not much beyond that.

Another way to look at book value......is to consider franchise value and goodwill. What is the Doublecase brand name worth? This is the question that investment bankers get the big bucks to decide.

Since we have no investment bankers here...we must do it.

So....Little Joey Samsonite inherits 250 million and wants to split away from the family business and go head to head with his older brothers.....(I'm making this up)......What would he pay to pick up the Doublecase line and run with it? What would he pay if Doublecase was the brand sold to the government under the Desktop V program?

OK....some numbers may be coming to mind.......

Now..... What would he pay if the Doublecase product line were offered by a few chain stores.....or major laptop manufactures? Hmmm. What if Doublecase was one of the top three names in laptop cases? This is where things get interesting.

If BANY can show, realistically, that $5 million in sales is not just possible, but probable, in 1999......Then at 2x sales....based on 7.5 million shares....BANY is worth $1.35 per share.....Just on franchise value. The fact that they are profitable on anything over $ 600k and would show 300%+ sales gains....is an entirely different issue.

OK.......I'm ready to be flamed......but this is exactly how a bunch of folks are looking at this little company.....I do not speak for them.....but I know how they think.

bg

Jeg snakker ikke dans ret tit, saa jeg griber enhver chance jeg kan faa. ---anders

P.S. If you don't speak danish, the above is meaningless.
