Dwight: Wednesday, is the day of reckoning in Japan. It appears Hashimoto will not loose face, in light of the fiscal austerity program adopted by his LDP at the end of '96, introducing a major income-tax stimulus this week. There is a consensus within his own party for the measure. He is free to do so after tomorrow's passage of the current annual budget. The announcement of this package, should it be well received, may indeed dovetail a top in our own stock market. We'll know soon. Yours, T.V.H.
