Dear Moonray and Dan: I spoke with LSI IR today. Moonray; Yes the Cicso 2500 series does have LSI chips. It is difficult to predict LSI's revenues until the specific configuration is known. LSI has IBM as a customer and a competitor, so the fact that IBM is a major player on the project with a unit that is not its chip unit does not present a problem. To repeat, 1 million terminals for the world's oldest major e-commerce system--airlines' reservations.

Dan; With respect to your question about a universal chip, covering CDMA/TDMA/GSM/analog, I was told that there is no universal standard so LSI is not working on it. LSI will need to be if the market consolidates. I find this very encouraging because LSI is ahead of other competitors in overall strength among these different standards.

Finally, with regards to National Semi's announcement today, there is no chance that LSI will attempt to put together a CPU on a chip. Halla, of course was formerly with LSI where he pressed the agenda, but Wilf felt there were better fights to be fought than head on with Intel.

Good luck and health to all
