Food For Thought Regarding VISX news release dated 3/24/98:

Additional highlights of VISX's FDA approval include laser removal of the epithelium (commonly called ''no-touch'' PRK) and system innovations such as better ergonomics for intrastromal microkeratome procedures, improved patient fixation, variable pulse frequency up to 10Hz, and other ease-of-use features.

The new system is marketed internationally as the VISX STAR S2 Smoothscan(TM) and is capable of treating hyperopia (farsightedness) and hyperopic astigmatism.

Granted it's a excimer laser, but is No-Touch Hyperopia already here or soon to come?
