The Vice President in charge of Public Relations is the charismatic Roger Ward of Indy 500 racing fame. As you will see from the website, WTA is affiliated with a Canadian company, CAR. WTA
will supply a shipping container of materials, train the Mexican labor
force and help set up the plant for a licensing fee of $260,000 for
each 324 cars. My calculations for $0.0148 EPS was based upon
WTA's estimated cost of $3400 US to build a car which can be
sold for $6000 US. I would consider BAT to be doing well if they
can produce the first 324 cars this year. They would have to build
slightly more than one car per day, working a six-day workweek. If they could actually build and sell 1000 cars my estimate for EPS rises to $0.0456. I would not think that the cars would have to be painted, since color could probably be included in a gel coat. The licensing
cost to BAT is $802.46. If they can build the whole car for $3400,
they have to obtain the rest of the components, as well as pay for labor and rent for $2597.53. WTA, however, made the cost analysis based upon using a 1.6 liter VW boxer engine. DeTech will be building some of the cars with VW engines for the Mexican market. BAT's cost to build the electric version may differ substantially. They may be cheaper to build, resulting in more profit for BAT, and an increased share valuation.
