--OT--But interesting for SI members: After looking into a pump for a penny stock posted on the ASND thread, I have ran down some very interesting developments concerning SI. A new breed of Visitor and Member has shown up on the SI threads starting around Feb. and more so in March. The first thread I perused had a number of people exuberantly pushing a under five dollar stock(DGIV), urging investors to get on board and to hold their shares, the stock had a recent runup concurrent with the appearance of the new posters. Many "facts" about the company are proffered by the posters and several posts indicate there is important big news about to be released. Several posters say the have met the CEO and testify to his impressive vision of the future of the company. They are rather vague about the number of shares existing and other basics about the company but claim that will clear up, as the company will soon be listed on the NASDAQ. They point to talks, agreements, and understandings with foreign governments and list many press releases related to the network and comms industry, none mentioning DGIV itself. Okay, so far it is just a little interesting, yes? Well it gets very much better as you check the profiles of the posters, most are visitors starting in March, checking their posts, from their profile, leads to a number of other threads and stocks in which much the same thing is going on. Something else shows up here, all these stocks have been signed up by PR firms designed to get your stock noticed. Three of the several are Liberty Capitol, Wallstreet West, Boston Global, and get this, some are posting directly to SI, with a Cheryl from "XXXX Capitol", many of the press releases (maybe all) are from the PR firms, using their initials with newswire, or such after it, and crediting it to the company or them selves at the bottom, some of the releases mention general good news about the industry or, in my opinion, news of dubious value concerning the company being pushed. I am coming to suspect that many of the enthusiastic posters may be just a very few individuals posting under many names, since most are new "visitors" to SI. SI is by a wide margin the most widely read stock chat site and it has become quite polluted by this back door offer of free trial membership. Surely some of this has gone on since its inception, but making it free is opening the flood gates. JMHO of course. Regards, Ed
