Re: Amazing (On Topic)

Wow Pete, how could you ask for a more positive endorsement? [for Targretin]

Oh, a scientifically controlled clinical study, perhaps? Six years of administration to thousands of women (as opposed to rats), perhaps?

"We believe" is not science. I will grant you, in a New York minute, that a "we believe" statement may have a positive effect on the stock. That's why I'll not predict that the tamoxifen news will lead to a deterioration of the LGND. This leads me to...

Your choice of negative interpretation betrays your short position bias.

WRONG! First off, I have publicly advocated a long trading position in LGND since "Judgement Day," the point at which the triangle formation in the stock resolved to the upside. This fact is well documented on this thread.

I could divulge my current position in LGND, but I feel no need to do so merely to refute your feeble attempt at inference. Do try to understand that my choice of negative interpretation does, in fact, betray my long position bias.

Unlike many of the people on SI, I am not in the business of promulgating either religion or hope. I am in the business of risk control. Controlling risk means taking a gimlet eye to every piece of information about the stocks in which I have a position and their sector and macroeconomic environments. Do I always succeed? No: I am human and I have an imperfect command of the investment craft.

There are two years until the next summer Olympics. At your rate, you could qualify in the running conclusion jump. Not to mention the standing ad hominem attack (apparently, this thread is the U.S. National Training Facility).
