It's hard to explain but the pre-earnings Borland Tree Shake is almost as predictable as the Borland Backslide. Ghassan might be right about this. One thing's for sure: the VSGN AQ was way too pricey and the Street is making that loud and clear. VSGN wasn't making money, they were losing money and now losing customers as a result of being married to a marginalized tool maker. Even if this eventually turns out to be a smart acquisition as I think it will, there is no getting around the fact that this company should never have paid the multiple they ended up paying. Look at IONAY, Borland can only dream of that sort of confidence.
