The truth is that it is a learned behavior like any other sin. "Truth"? Thanks, I'll stick with the scientists. What's my point about Hoover? He was a notorious gay-basher who was himself gay. Happens all the time. Roy Cohn was the same type.

Sturgeon, you and your magical theories hold about as much water as a spaghetti strainer and the only saving grace, as it were, is that you are not alone. You talk about the silly party tricks of your man-made god out of one side of your mouth and then you have the temerity to express an opinion about verification and fact? For your information, your belief system is there for the same reasons you subscribe to it: blind ignorance, historical accident and political intervention. You cannot escape the notion that you are compelled by your cult to reject the equally valid teachings of other religions, many of which have a far greater foundation in reality than the nonsensical codswallop and poppycock you signed up for. It's not "liberals" but people with basic common sense and a respect for the universe and that which created it that you have an issue with. You still hold those pagan-like ideals of who we are and how we got here. You are a modern day pagan, every bit as dangerous and irrational as those who went before you from the murdering, torturing, raping and looting Crusaders to the mudering, torturing, raping and looting expeditions from Spain. All members of the same cult and that's only the tip of one iceberg, there are countless other cults who commited countless more atrocities in the name of their own fictional characters who they fancied as gods. The world's population does not advance in a synchronized manner, there are people who act and think like ignorant peasant did many hundreds or even thousands of years ago; those people had an excuse, what's yours? As for homosexuals, you apparently can't accept the simple notion that these people are born that way as a result of their genetic makeup because you are an ignorant human being. I'm personally glad I don't have that particular error, and I make no apology for seeing that as primarily (though certainly not wholly) a genetic error. Moreover, I don't judge them cruelly because they have it anymore than I judge people who are inordinately short with any sort of distain. More importantly, I am not threatened by them as you seem to be. Are you fighting off a genetic inclination we don't know about? Sturgeon, you are living in a mental prison which you have been constructing bar by bar throughout your life while many of us have been discovering the truth of what we know, what we don't know, and what challenge lie ahead of us. Sooner or later the backwoods, snake-worshiping, tongue-talking mental cases will snap out of their stupor and reach for enlightenment. I'm not holding my breath that it will happen in this generation but it will happen BEFORE man achieves virtual immortality so we will be prepared to deal with it. How sad that you must live in a fantasy world of your own making, how truly sad.
