>>"The real reason the government opposes the free flow of encryption technology is the loss of control over the citizen". Really? Sounds like your next sentence was going to be,"Comrades,Arise. Cast off your oppressive shackles"<<

Mr. Saltbox,

How could you possibly know what my next sentence would be, by the way you use logic in the above deduction, I can not imagine you could know what your own next THOUGHT would be, let alone YOUR own next sentence.
Speak for yourself and stop putting words where they do not belong.

Your assumption and innuendo that I am a communist is ignorant and wrong, as probably is your idea of a communist.

Communism states that all means of production should be under a central government control, the control of information flow would obviously be in the interest of a Communist regime, or in the case of most governments since such control restrict the knowledge of the individual. This obviously favors those in the control of power. This obviously is a view I AM CLEARLY OPPOSED TO.

My comment, which was made as an opinion, obviously touched a soft spot for you. If you have a problem with that then state so, in stead of making stupid innuendoes such as the one above.

Just for the record, I am the farthest thing there is from a Communist, I advocate Laissez Faire Capitalism, and reject the control and/or participation of government in any activity, other than: 1. National defense 2. Domestic safety of individual and private property, and 3. Funding of a court system. Nothing else. Such is my view and your opinion can not change it.

In addition, as I stated earlier, the future of governments will be severely limited, but that is a different topic altogether.

Hardly the views of a communist.

I have an idea where you are coming from, however, I will not fall into your trap, and simply speak from known facts.

>>I don't know, but I would suspect that governmental interference (at this point) is probably non-existent because, like the internet itself, nobody even knows WHAT to regulate--things are moving too fast. It's way too early argue about Big Brother.<<

Brilliant! Your knowledge of the obvious impresses me, that is way the government restricts (by law, not by desire), the export of strong encryption... or would require an "escrow key" to access, at their sole discretion, whatever encrypted document they may feel free to do so.

Of course, they would do so after a "court order"

Oh big brother does not know WHAT to regulate?.... You really are pathetic. I wonder what all those bills in Congress must be for, maybe they really want to control Nafta, or the WTO, or maybe they want to restrict anybody that trades with Cuba, while everybody is getting ahead of the US in developing that country. Or may be they are just jerking off... (they really do do that!).

Or may be the CDA (Communications Decency Act, NOT CANADIAN DENTAL ASSOCIATION...) was just my imagination going wild, I wonder what they were trying to control, it must have been the newspapers such as the Enquirer, for publishing news that Pat Robertson was really a native of Uranus, attempting to control planet earth... That's right!

No they were not trying to control the Internet.(!) Mr. Saltbox says they do not even KNOW what to control, "things are moving too fast"

You are damned right we are moving too fast and the less government control there is the better it will be!

Give me a break, Mr. Saltbox, given such statements, how could I possibly take you serious...

In addition, let us not forget the following statements from prior posts, from Mr. Brilliance himself:

It seems the MMs will ALWAYS have a shortage of shares. I spoke to Ed
Broday at MDCE who told me: 22 mil outstanding; 11.3 mil float OF
WHICH 3.3 mil is "frozen", and 4.5-5 mil is in "friendly hands", leaving a TRADING float of only 3-3.5 mil shares. For 6-700,000 dollars this could be bought up and MDCE would essentially be taken off the market. But I do think the low number of shares is another big plus. BTW I,m new here, to SI, and penny stocks. The exchange of information on SI makes me feel more in control of my investments than ever. Prolly the most fun I've ever had standing up.

The following really perked up my attention:

BTW I,m (?) "new here, to SI and penny stocks"....?
SI makes me "feel" more "in control"?.....
Prolly (?) "the most fun I've ever had standing up"?.....

Mr. Saltbox, be careful that the "MM's" do not hand you your own head in a silver platter....

In Addition: ("ALEX" is a 12 year old boy requesting "advice" as to what to do with $800.00 that he has...)

Alex, you are to be commended for your interest in investing, and I think you should. You say you have 800 bucks; did you make this by investing, working, or was it a gift? If you got it by investing, I'd say keep right on doing what you're doing (assuming you started with LESS than $800). Otherwise, my suggestion would be to take $100 or $200 and put it into stocks of YOUR choosing. Nothing educates more thoroughly than having your own money on the line. Sure, you'll make mistakes, but that's life--and don't be afraid to make them (unfortunately, we learn more from our mistakes than our successes). Check in from time to time and let us know how you're doing because you've come across THE most literate and intelligent thread on SI. And you, too, can aspire to be like "jane,at the beach with no shoes on". Good luck.

----------------------end of copy------------------------------------

Well Mr. Saltbox, what are you a self-appointed stock guru, that on March 31st. Mr. Saltbox admits to be "new to penny stocks", and further he "feels" he is "in control" in SI?..... Then 2 days later, he is capable of giving a 12 year old boy financial "advice"? ... Do you know Mr. Saltbox you could be held liable for issuing investment advice without a license, (assuming you do not have a license), and if the opposite is the case, I would then ask you would it not be ethical to disclose it?

Jane at the beach? With all due respect to "Jane at the Beach", but was this the same "Jane" that was banned from SI ? I may be mistaken, and if so My apologies Jane...

Besides, I would assume that someone at 12 years old with the initiative to invest in stocks, may have larger aspirations than "sit at the beach", (again, forgive me Jane nothing personal, but if I am good at stock investing at age 12, by age 24, I would like to own several corporations, this is only my own opinion, of course).

My point here is that Mr. Saltbox: WHAT A POMPOUS ARSE YOU ARE!!!
I could really go to town with you but I won't, like hell I won't...

>>Well, I drove over here from the EBIZ site, but it's Sunday eve and traffic was light. Now then, XYZ, you have raised questions which might be valid in a theological seminary or a philosophy class, but probably don't apply to investing.<<

Then you "drove" here as you indicate and start lecturing me? What are you? An adolescent hyper-lactant moron?? Theological seminar? Philosophy class? Investing?

Again, I will repeat it again slowly,

1. I was asked an opinion, I gave it.
2. This is a public forum, you or anybody else can not dictate what my opinion "should be or not", and what I should say or not"
3. You have proven to be worse than an imbecile is, because an imbecile has no capacity to think or reason, and therefore usually those individuals are institutionalized.

Unless your Internet connection provides service to such institutions, and indeed, you got hold of a computer within such institution, I will assume that your Internet connection is your own personal one, "outside of an institution".

As to "getting back to the subject at hand:

Well Excuse me Mr. Saltbox, but such export restriction, if I may be so blunt to state so, IS PART OF THE SUBJECT AT HAND, SIR. BECAUSE IT IS PRECISELY THE REASON WHY, SOMEBODY OUTSIDE THE BORDERS OF THE U.S. MAY IN FACT COME UP WITH A TECHNOLOGY STRONG ENOUGH AND ATTRACTIVE ENOUGH TO CORPORATIONS WORLD WIDE SO THEY CAN SELL SUCH PROGRAMS, WITHOUT WORRYING THAT THE GOVERNMENT WILL FORBID ITS EXPORTATION.

As to my opinion why the present state of affairs is, let me remind you that it this is a public forum and I will express my opinion, (particularly when it was asked for), regardless of your stupid innuendoes and requests to "limit" my expression of such opinion.

Come to think of it Mr. Saltbox, you seem to feel uncomfortable with the idea of free expression...

I wonder why...? Could it be.... you and one of those zealots??... no!, that would be such an easy coincidence...

"Too early to worry about Big Brother".... By the time you would consider necessary, to "worry about Big Brother" is indeed too late for worrying or anything else....about big brother.

In closing I will leave you with the following thoughts: (that is for homework)...

# 1.

"The kind of man who wants the government to adopt and enforce
his ideas is always the kind of man whose ideas are idiotic."

- Henry Louis Mencken (1880-1956)
U. S. Editor and Critic.

# 2.

When they took the 4th Amendment, I was quiet because I didn't deal drugs. When they took the 6th Amendment, I was quiet because I am innocent. When they took the 2nd Amendment, I was quiet because I don't own a gun. Now they have taken the 1st Amendment, and I can only be quiet.

- Lyle Myhr

# 3.

"The people cannot be all, and always, well-informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty."

--Thomas Jefferson to William Stephens Smith, 1787. Papers, 12:356.

# 4

"The only proper functions of a government are: The police to protect you from criminals; the army to protect you from foreign invaders; and the courts, to protect your property and contracts from breach or fraud by others, to settle disputes by rational rules, according to objective law."

-- Ayn Rand.

So Mr. Saltbox, I will tell my friends, that you called me a communist, they will laugh so hard, they will want to give you a prize for the best joke of the century...

Z.
