There is risk in being long on YHOO, sure.... But there is *MORE* risk in being short. So if you think it's overvalued, that's fine, don't go long; but it doesn't logically follow that you should short it. That's the mistake that shorts have been making for over a year.

Btw, I've never heard of a company announcing a stock split the day before they announce earnings, because it simply doesn't happen. You might want to make some "broker friends" with people who have a little more experience/knowledge. If YHOO wants to announce a split, they'd do it concurrently with the earnings report.

All of my broker friends agree on that point.

2 things:

1) do you have any friends?
2) If you want to make money do the exact opposite of your broker friends.
