Pancho, It's interesting to see how the standard aphorisms change to match reality. To wit, it used to be "as January goes, so goes the year". This year we had a down January. So now, in order to legitimize the continuing advance, the saying has been changed to "as the first quarter goes, so goes the year"! Try substituting earnings growth as opposed to share price performance in the "new and improved" January predictor. :o)
