eom, you are a hippy with an attitude...a yippy! I admit defeat because I should have spotted your trick question....

btw the first album I ever bought was "Machine Head" The first single I ever bought was "Little Arrows" by Leapy Lee, followed by Hair and Guitarzan.

Well, I think the nod goes to Janice answering the question some time ago. I followed her link in #reply-3966822 , and then to "BIO" and saw this. At that point I figured Le jeu son fait.

What's the deal with the name, anyway?

Jon takes the blame for coming up with the band name. He explains, "There was a band in the late 60's called Lothar and the Hand People. Lothar was the name of their Theremin, and they really play up the angle in the liner notes of the first LP. Unfortunately, the Theremin is virtually non-existent throughout the record, except for some between-song sound effects. Anyway, since we have three Theremins, I figured we should be The Lothars, plural."

So waht about the Lothar I I I found? His inductors sounded interesting.
