>>Lastly they have something Microsoft fears - Java. I know that raises the hackles of the microsoft bigots who are paid to be shortsighted and refuse to see anything that Microsoft doesnt dominate as a starry eyed plot by people who dont realize that Microsoft is the only company that knows what the world really needs.<<

While I hate the monopoly that Microsoft has, I personally don't
believe that Java is the answer. As far as I'm concerned, Java
is too slow to be really useful. While it is a far better
implementation of an OO language than C++, it simply is NOT
platform independent and is insanely slow.

Hopefully Sun can produce a "Java" chip that will speed it up,
but I'm highly doubtful. Because Java is an interpreted language,
it has an extra layer of processing versus C++, etc. What's truly
ironic is that Java runs much faster on a PC w/ Win95 than on an
UltraSparc. Heck, even a $10,000 UltraSparc would have a hard
time matching a $1000 PC when it comes to running Java applets.

Is microsoft's fear of Java enhanced by the fact that the two biggest JAVA developments - FDX and CSX - were recently dumped (along with the SUN HW they were planned to run on) in favor of NT systems running on CPQ and HP HW? MS also has the only implementation of JAVA that runs worth a damn.

I have owned SUNW for over two years. In that time it has gone from
about 30 to 45 even though they have reported spectacular earnings growth. I think the reason for the poor stock performance in that wise investors recognize that the jihad organized by the Silicon Valley mafia detracts from the strategic focus of SUNW and Netscape.

MacNealy et al don't understand that this kamakazi attack on MSFT
may or may not hurt MSFT, but it will not assure their future. In fact, if you have a successful Kamakazi attack, you have no future.

I will continue to hold the SUNW shares for a while longer, hoping that they wake up and manage their own companies, rather than have
all of their decisions evaluated on the basis of how much they will contribute to screwing Microsoft.

Everybody says that these guys are smart. Do they actually think that by contributing to the Democratic Party and by hiring big time Republicans as their lobbyists they can not only influence policy,
but can also stop the politicians from implementing anti-trust regs that influence their operations. I don't thing that MSFT would have any problem coming up with enough money to buy all of Washington.

During the same two years that I have owned SUNW, I have also owned MSFT,but Microsoft has gone from about 25 to 90.

Hate Microsoft? Are you from Mars? In your heart of hearts, you have to hate yourself for letting your emotions intrude in your investment
decisions. One other thought.

When I read or hear people say that they hate Microsoft, I wonder if they were turned down when they applied to MSFT for a job. Wow.
3000 are worth a million out of 13000.
