Went back to reread the article I read this weekend. Jeffrey Applegate, chief investment strategist for Lehman Brothers and whose recommendations are followed on the Bloomberg News, called the three stocks the best buys in tech stocks and "the growth stocks of our era". In addition, he mentioned Chase and Citibank as undervalued at this time.

one of the very respected (conservative) analyists in So. Cal says the three stocks to own in 1998 are Intel, Dell and Pfizer. When asked about Lucent he said "Excellent company, I should probably have added Lucent too.
