Why most of us only buy and hold? How to get the best price then?

Buy and hold saves commissions, true. But may save more income taxes, more than true.

How then can you buy at the best prices? On pull back, every advisor will tell you that. On pull back when? Use technical analysis and buy at support level, on an overall trend (connect two support points and draw a line which has to slope up more than the resistance line) that is sloped up. Then on the day you want to buy, watch the Yahoo big one day chart online. When the price drops to the support level of the day, put your money where the action is, buy on market order. Otherwise buy at the close on market order.
