Three very interesting joint ventures/agreements out of Cyberstar today involving HP, One Touch, and Adaptec. It is always good to be in bed with someone like HP, of course. HP bought out Verifone last year, which makes the little grey box for swiping your credit card, but they also have the best solution for internet commerce. That would be an excellent addition to Cyberstar's bag of goodies. The deal with One Touch has potential also. I had looked at C* as a deluxe internet solution as well as a vehicle to deliver software, training videos, etc. to any location. But, this deal got me thinking. They speak of interactive distance learning(IDL). If this plays out, I think you will see the much-hoped-for interactive TV attributes show up on your PC. Virtually anything could be broadcast by C*, and a user uplink provides instant interactivity. Go to any annual meeting, listen to any speaker, ask questions, watch video presentations, watch concerts, listen in on industry meetings, on any topic, give your feedback immediately. I can envision a time when you check what is on TV tonight, and also see what is on C*. The possibilities are endless. I can't wait to see how this develops.
