Mesaba, as I said before, I can only speak on transsexuals from what the ones I have known have told me, and from my own observations of the struggles they went through. My beliefs do not reflect any negativity, but I agree with you that many transsexuals would disagree.

One of the things any group of people which is just coming out, fighting to be recognized, seems to do is insist that whatever they have in common is a voluntary state. Homosexuals did this in the early 1990's, saying it was a lifestyle choice, but really I don't believe that, and I don't think many of them do either at this point. Many deaf people believe the same way, but they are speaking from a very polarized and politicized position when they suggest that a baby should not have an implant to restore his hearing. Let him remove it when he is an adult if he disagrees with his parents' decision.

However, one of the things the transgender issue is really about is whether the spirit is male or female, something it is much too late for me to speak coherently about since it is three in the morning. I tend to believe the spirit is not masculine or feminine, however.
