Does this mean that GTE is selling off their ILEC? <GTE Corp. said it will sell local phone businesses for about $2 billion to $3 billion to cut costs and free up cash for expansion into Internet services and other areas with greater sales growth. > From Yahoo...<another level on all of this is that GTE wants OUT of the ILEC business. they want to shift everything over to the CLEC cause the FCC is going to really screw the ILECs, or at least that is their fear.
