Real interesting article in the April 6, 1998 BARRON'S.

The article entitled "The Inside Story" on pg. 20 notes that 3 insiders have purchased 95,000 shs in the $12 - $13 range. I don't know if this is news on this thread, but it shows that HLIT's mgmt still believes in the prospects of the company and its fiber optics dopers/amplifiers.

I was walking to my credit union in Denver last week and noticed a truck with ICG on its side stopped in the street. Workers were busy feeding fiber optic cable into a manhole in the street. I asked the workers what the abbreviation ICG stood for, one replied it was "Intel Communication Group, I think". Further, I asked how many miles of cable were they laying. The other replied "from Kansas City to the west coast". Immediately, I thought of the need for dopers/amplifiers every 60 miles. Who supplies your dopers? The reply was "a couple of outfits -- Northern Telecom, Lucent, HLIT".

Although last quarter's results were weak, keep your eyes on the next couple of years results; during this time is where HLIT will shine. Before getting too nervous, consider this conversation, for whatever its worth.

Still watching fiber optic expand in Denver.
