Craig,

An all to familiar story as of late. Is there something fundamentally wrong with the MKII, or is there a problem with management? The number of deals going to Brocade is getting a little lopsided.

Roger

From one of the releases:

biz.yahoo.com

"Dynamic Real-Time I/O Throttling Subsystem. Available now for
Macintosh systems, this subsystem allows an administrator to
dynamically control the maximum I/O bandwidth a given FC station
can use at run-time. I/O throttling ensures system stability and
availability as the number of stations is increased and prevents
interference by lower bandwidth stations with high
bandwidth-dependent stations.
"It's exciting for me to see this technology take off the way
it has," said Wolff, "Our real-time dynamic I/O throttling system
is delivering on Fibre Channel today what the class-4 standards
are trying to finalize."

-- I/O Monitor Subsystem and Viewer Application. This tool assists
an administrator in determining what value to set in the I/O
Throttle configuration by monitoring a stations I/O use or
requirements."

Wouldn't a feature like this make Ancor's class 1 more 'usable'?
If I understand it correctly class 1 means dedicated connection
taking entire bandwidth.
