Intel working with LU/Harris/IBM on "trials"....................

Trials are expected to begin later this year, when PBS will broadcast its first DTV signals with actual programming. The companies expect to conduct trials in three to five major television markets later this year.

Intel and PBS have been working together on engineering tests of DTV broadcast signals through a PBS member station in Washington, D.C., WETA-TV. Intel also contributed demonstrations of digital broadcast technologies for the Harris/PBS DTV Express, a joint project by PBS and the Harris Corporation to educate broadcasters about data services and the transition to digital.
