80...in a couple days maybe sooner?

>>i'd guess the next level will be about 80

At first I thought this was a ridiculous self-serving statement and
not an honest guess.

However, if you factor that Wednesday is earnings day for YHOO, this
doesn't look so impossible.

I don't know what people expect of YHOO -- I have heard (or actually
read) estimates from 4 cents all the way up to 15 (impossible!).

My take is that YHOO will have to do around 8 cents to keep from
slumping.

I remember back in summer of 1996, when one of my favorite holding beat estimates nicely, but still fell (68 to 65 to 62 to 60 to 58 to
end up in the 56 range for some time).

Just beating estimates is sometimes not enough, if there is a general
expectation that estimates will be beat.

So, although I think it is likely that YHOO will beat estimates, I think that if it isn't by more than 1 or 2 cents, YHOO is in trouble -- this, I guess, is logical, do to the runup of late March (which was
illogical).

It will be interesting to see what happens. 80 may be what it ends
up at.

OtherChap: Bloody smashing day!

Congrats on your fine call. You had the guts to short it when it was skyrocketing and now it's paying off for you. Boy, I hope yahoo beats those high whisper numbers or your going to have a pretty nice gain. :) It's nice to hear that there are shares available for shorting at Etrade and Waterhouse. So far, there's no problem of a short squeeze. Only one more thing to say to you: YAHOOOOOO!!!!!!!

To the longs, don't sell your shares now. Go for the ride. Your conviction will prove something in the end!
