As part of a long-term strategic agreement with Sony, NBC is building an HDTV facility for late-night's top-rated show, "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." This arrangement is an extension of a previously announced agreement, in which NBC and Sony have teamed up to develop broadcast products and applications for the next five Olympic Games. NBC's Burbank facility will use Sony's digital high definition (HDVS) equipment in the "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" studio, in its control room and in an edit suite. Design and installation will be completed by Sony's Systems Integration Center (SIC).

LAS VEGAS (Dow Jones)-- Divicom Inc., a unit of C - Cube Microsystems Inc. (CUBE), will join with Adaptec Inc. (ADPT) to offer a combined satellite-based data broadcasting system product.

Divicom also will collaborate with Victor Co. of Japan to design and develop multi-standard high definition television encoding systems. Terms weren't disclosed.

In addition, Divicom will co-market Transmission Manager, a management and control system for multichannel digital broadcasting, with Big Flower Holdings Inc.'s (BGF) Columbine JDS unit.
