I hate to correct you again but if you re-read my post #3266 wherein I posted information directly from the Viagra web page, you'll see that the efficacy of Viagra ranges from 57% to over 80%. The response is dose related and depends upon the cause of ED.

Also, I am wondering how you know that different departments within the FDA are reviewing Vasomax when an NDA hasn't even been filed yet?

Hank

Dauntless,

Sorry to get dragged into your battle with Hank, but the efficacy of the approved dosage levels for Viagara (sildenafil citrate) was reported as such:

60.9% at 25 mg dose
72.9% at 50 mg
77.8% at 100 mg

Zonagen reported efficacy for Vasomax (phentolamine mesylate):

40% at 40 mg dose (parallel trial)
34% at 40 mg (crossover trial)

It is also correct that the FDA Division of Urologic and Reproductive drugs has been providing the guidance with the expectation that Zonagen would be reviewed by this Division. Pfizer was reviewed and approved by the Cardio-Renal Division. It is a misnomer to believe that one Division of the FDA is less stringent than another.
