Eddie, good link. But as always lately, it seems cpq is damned if they do and damned if they don't. I refer to a comment in the article paraphrased: CTO means to me regular offerings aren't diverse enough. I also detected some scepticism as to cpq's ability to execute CTO. However, I continue to have confidence in cpq's management despite it's current reversal of fortune. Hope that after both earnings announcements next week something definitive will be said about the forthcoming merger. dulane

EDDIE -- REALLY DISAPPOINTED ABOUT LACK OF LEADARSHIP TO ALLOW THE COMPANY STOCK TO BE DRIVEN DOWN THIS YEAR . ANY WAY YOU CUT IT THE FACTORING THAT WAS DONE IN THE THIRD AND FOURTH QTR WAS STUFFING THE CHANNEL AS MANY ANALYST HAVE SAID OTHERWISE WHY HAVE THE PLANT'S SHUT DOWN FOR TWO WEEKS . ALSO THE FACT HE KNOWLINGLY DID THIS WHILE USING HIS STOCK OPTION'S DOEN'T MAKE FOR A LOT OF TRUST INN MANAGEMENT . BY THE WAY THE KEY ISSUE FOR THE STOCK PERFORMANCE FOR THE REST OF APRIL IS NOT CPQ OR DEC EARNINGS OR ANYTHING EP MIGHT SAY - IT IS IF THE FTC APPROVES THE INTEL BUYOUT OF THE HUDSON CHIP PLANT WHICH IS DUE THIS MONTH . IF IT DOES NOT GO THRU DEC WILL LOSE 700 MILLION IN CASH + 700 MILLION IN CHIP REBATES TO SETTLE THE LAWSUIT WITH INTEL . ANOTHER ISSUE IS THAT DEC LOSES SOMEONE WHO CAN MAKE A PROFIT MANUFACTURING THE ALPHA CHIP . THE HUDSON PLANT HAS BEEN A BIG FINANCIAL DRAIN ON DEC BOTTOM LINE ALSO . BEST WISHES BILL
