IBM's investment of 20% ($800 MM) stake in AMD lends tremendous credibility to AMD for IBM must be sure beyond any shadow of doubt about the K6 excellent yield at 300 plus MHz, K7 progress, and AMD-Kn Road Map. Does anyone think IBM is stupid or crazy enough to throw away $800 MM ? They could donate that amount to charity and benefit from tax write-off instead. The sheer endorsement of IBM should lay to rest any lingering doubt about K6 yield. Does that ring a bell shorters ? IBM may finally redeem its mistake for outsourcing the processor design to INTC at the start of the PC revolution.
